The Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars from Universe Architecture in collaboration with the Italian inventor Enrico Dini, founder of the D-Shape 3D printer, have presented a project on creating a 3D printing building. It is actually part of the European competition, in which architects from over 15 countries build innovative projects during two years. Ruijssenaar names their project “architecture of continuity with an endless array of applicability.” Designers will print out 6×9 chunks of frame, made of sand and inorganic binder and fill the frame with fiber-reinforced concrete. The innovative 3D printing techniques will help them create the world’s first 3D two-story building in 2014.
