Intel has recently announced about the release of the Intel Perceptual Computing Software Development Kit beta to developers early next year. Perceptual computing will provide the Ultrabook with human-like senses and enable the computer perceive the user’s intentions with the help of Intel’s Creative camera. Intel believes, that due to this invention software developers will create new advanced applications to enhance user’s interaction. The fields, in which Intel wants to move further, are speech recognition (real-time language translation function), facial analysis for facial recognition (determining of a user’s age and gender, facial tracking). Users will be able to reach out and manipulate objects on screen or control applications by simple gestures, ensuring the Ultrabook with close-range tracking. Furthermore 2D/3D tracking will allow user images to blend into the action on the screen.
