Cells from blood are currently used to grow cells for a human body that help to fight various diseases, but there’s a material, which is more abundant, urine. The experiment of scientists on the urine cells, that were converted into viable neurons which started working perfectly when embedded into the human body, was a success. These results were gained after the transplantation of the cells into the brain of newborn rats. Geneticists at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington hope to implement this method in the work on childhood disorders, cause it’s much easier to get a child to give a urine sample than to prick them for blood.
