Back to the roots is the concept system to provide better understanding of what’s the production chain behind any product on a food shelf. Back to the roots is to be incorporated into smartphones and, based on a scanned RFID tag, to give out info on the raw materials, production method, environmental factors and what not of the meal a consumer intends to purchase. This system is to offer more transparency of the consumed goods, compare them and subsequently give consumer possibilities to make healthier food choices.
