Thermoelectric Cover Recovers Wasted Energy

Researchers at the University of Purdue have covered the glass fibers with their novel ‘thermoelectric’ material to recover the wasted energy. When this material is heated from one side, the electrons inside it move to the cooler side generating en electric current. The thermoelectric material is created with solution of nano-crystals exposed to heat to blend them creating a coating. The coated fibers are used to cover automobile engines, manufacturing pipes and other to save the heat and bring back the lost energy. The thermoelectric covered glass fibers can not only match irregular shapes but may further be woven into fabric for summer garments.
