Nuclear Waste: Clean From Now On

At all times, people have been reasonably concerned about the nuclear waste utilization. Scientists of Notre Dame seem to have solved this problem. They acquired Notre Dame Thorium Borate-1 (NDTB) which can absorb radioactive ions from nuclear waste. This crystalline compound has multiple channels, pores and cages able to exchange anions with contaminants as chromate. As stated in the paper, the research team managed to successfully remove about 96 percent of radionuclide technetium (99Tc) from nuclear waste during the experiment. This proves that NDTB-1 can recycle the material through confining radioactive ions and later exchanging them for a higher class type.
