The Synergy project was presented at 2011 Green Flight Challenge by NASA, and looks for initial financial support of $65,000 on Kickstarter. Its designer John McGinnis claims fuel economy to be 10 times better than in a regular small jet. A Delta Hawk bio-diesel fueled propeller engine will provide the 32-foot wingspan, and steady-flying double box tail shape will ensure drag reduction. Having a unique aerodynamic design, the Synergy aircraft is to fly between 100mph and 450mph (with the official top speed unknown yet). This four-seater airplane is also to be mesmerizing in its adaptability to hybrid, electric and other advanced engine technologies.
