Single Atom Transistor Created
The team of physicists led by Professor Michelle Simmons at the University of New South Wales (Australia) succeeded in developing the smallest wholly functioning transistor in the world using one phosphors atom. That atom has been patterned between atomic scale electrodes and electrostatic control gates to objectify the transistor, states the research published in the Nature Nanotechnology. In future, this new transistor can grant superlative efficiency and performance to fast computers and other devices.
