Table Type Computer Sommeliers

Based on the “SUR40 for Microsoft Surface”, a table-type PC by Samsung Electronics, 2nd Factory Co Ltd created an electronic sommelier user interface. If a restaurant visitor wants to know more about a bottle of wine, he/she needs to place the bottle on a designated spot on the table and read up the information on the wine taste, production area, dishes to complement it and everything else the restaurant owner chooses to enter into the system. The mechanism of work is the following: the embedded into the table computer (SUR40) reads the bar-code on the bottom of the bottle, retrieves the wine data from its database, compares it with the information from a cloud network and presents it to the customer.
