Phantom Eye By Boeing: Drone On Hydrogen
An unmanned drone intended for communications, surveillance and intelligence purposes has successfully completed the first taxi test at Edwards Air Force base, with the max speed of 34.5 mph. The Boeing aircraft, known as the Phantom Eye, is hydrogen fueled, high altitude, long-endurance (or HALE) unmanned drone anticipated to stay in the air for up to 10 days with a 450-pound load. It holds 1,900 pounds of liquid hydrogen in two tanks, has a wingspan of 150 feet, 16-foot diameter propellers and 150 horsepower engines. To top all that it has many more tests, ground- as well as airborne to undergo.
