Media Bridge As a City Extension In Seoul (+VIDEO)

The extensive Paik Nam June Media Bridge is planned over the Han River that flows through the center of Seoul, Korea. The bridge is designed by the architectural agency Planning Korea. The structure is to be 1080 meters long and to physically stretch city over the water housing such cultural and public facilities, as a library, museum and an IT mall, and is also meant for walking, cycling and water taxis, yachts and cruise ships docks. The mega-bridge is to look flowing in lines and to set sustainable standards with every horizontal floor being covered with a garden, collecting rain water and water from the river for irrigation; and the upper part being covered with solar panels to satisfy its own energy needs. Named after the Korean media and video artist the outer skin of the bridge is to be used as a projection canvas for artists from around the world.
