IBM Prototype For Augmented Reality Shopping
IBM research scientists have released a prototype app for augmented reality experience combined with usual in-store shopping. To use it consumers have to download the application, register, and create their profile with personally important features: allergen info, packaging data, discounts, prices and even reviews. When the users point their device’s camera at a product in an aisle, the app recognizes them and provides all the details. Social networks can be integrated into the information stream, depicting friends’ comments or reviews on the product.
