Futuristic Porsche Pavilion Design In Wolfsburg
The Porsche Pavilion, designed by HENN Architects, is located in Volkswagen’s theme park in Wolfsburg, Germany. Its distinctive curves and bends dominate the site, pointing at the importance of Porsche within the Volkswagen Group family. The magnificent building disposes 400 m² of space for exhibitions and presentations. The interior and exterior are designed as a flowing sequence with matte finish stainless steel cladding and welded ribs. There’re cantilevers 25m over the lagoon’s water surface at the entrance of the pavilion; a sheltered external space opens up below the cantilever of the large asymmetrical roof. The highlight of the building’s interior is an elliptically curved ramp that leads visitors to the lower exhibition stage areas, designed by Hg Merz Architekten Museumgestalter. The starting point of the exhibition, displaying 25 silver-colored vehicle models manufactured at the scale of 1:3, is the Original Porsche built in 1948.
