Blended Wing Body Aircraft – New Generation X-Plane By NASA

NASA, X-48C
X-48C, a blended wing body aircraft of the X-Plane generation is to be tested by NASA. The advantages of the X-48 design are numerous: a wide space for payload, a 30% increase in fuel economy, better reliability, greater range, and a cheaper manufacturing cost. The remote controlled demonstrator of a potential future military craft, this X-48C currently stays under construction at Dryden Flight Research Center of NASA in the Mojave desert in California, designed to test new engine configurations.
