A Robot To Clean Up Your Mess At Home (+VIDEO)

A Cornell team of researchers is working on a robot to organize things on a flat surface. This robot could perform tasks as storing things in a refrigerator, identifying objects to be disposed and moving them to a dustbin, or organizing clothes in a wardrobe. Presently, this is the first robot known to get objects of different shape and size placing in non-trivial spots. With the help of Microsoft Kinect 3-D camera the robot creates graphic simulations of the surroundings, identifies shapes of the objects and determines the way to move them from one site to another. So far the robot got space for improvement as supposedly it might drop an occasional dish or oddly place one object onto the other.
