Underwater Turbine Tested Successfully In Scotland

Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) is reported to have completed testing period of ‘Hammerfest Strom HS 1000’ an immersed tidal power turbine near the island of Eday. This HS 1000 comes with integrated blades that are pretty short. It is to produce one-megawatt of electricity for the buildings on Eday, and to be monitored by engineers of the European Marine Energy Center and inspected from Glasgow with the help of mobile connection and an on-board camera.
