U.K. & U.S.: Commercial Spaceports Planning
Presently, the U.S. has the world’s first commercial spaceport – Spaceport America of Virgin Galactic created for commercial spacecraft has already launched sounding rockets and prototype space planes. While in the U. K., David Willetts, the Universities and Science Minister, pronounced plans “to determine how the U.K., indeed the whole of Europe, can best position itself to take advantage of space plane activities.” He is sure Europe must first formulate a regulatory framework for the “reusable aircraft launchers”. That’s what NASA and FAA are already attempting to create. While the governments are not ready for the commercial space flights or space tourism, companies like SpaceX and Planetary Resources are ready to start their business in the orbital areas.
