‘Terminator’-Style Material Heals Itself
For astronauts living in space with objects zooming around them at 22,000 miles per hour like rogue super-bullets, it’s good to have a backup plan. Shields and maneuvering protect spacecraft well, but to add another layer of potentially life-saving protection, scientists have developed a material designed to heal itself in less than a second in case it gets punctured.
