Sharp Introduces New Semi-Transparent Solar Panels
Have you ever seen a solar panel in light colors? So far the solar panels usually come in dark shades, most often in an unattractive black color. It is considered that this color is optimal for the photovoltaic cells that constitute the solar panel to capture the heat energy from Sun effectively and turn it into usable electric power. However, Sharp has introduced brand new semi-transparent solar panels resembling glass. Despite the fact that such panels have a lower rate of conversion from heat to electric energy, their great advantage is that they can be extensively used in construction instead of regular glass. Just imagine a skyscraper with hundreds of windows all of them producing electric power! The Japanese market is already looking forward to a launch in October; details of international launch are to be informed.
