The Met Police is to be equipped with mobile fingerprint scanners, capable of running a fingerprint check against a national database in mere seconds. So far, Scotland Yard has distributed around 350 of such devices resembling phones to its officers across London. The system will help combat crime, identify unconscious victims and save time through excluding unnecessary full identification arrest.
