Mitsubishi’s Vison On EV: CA-MiEV Concept
Considering recent concerns over global warming, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) believes electric vehicles (EV) should become long-term core products. From the pioneering i-MiEV in 2009 and a goal of 20% of EV-based cars by 2020, Mitsubishi has already made progress towards this. Its latest achievement is new electrified vehicles unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. One of them is the CA-MiEV Concept, a next generation compact EV. At the moment it is only a demonstrator, meant as a display of the various technologies Mitsubishi plans to introduce in future across its range of global vehicles. This roomy, sleek, lightweight and efficient hatchback is ideal for suburban & country daily life. The arrow-shaped CA-MiEV Concept brings a degree of high tech sleekness to small car design. The vehicle features next generation EV systems and high density batteries, light weight as well as advanced aerodynamics to offer a 300 km driving range (or about one week of driving for an average European driver). One more innovation includes magnetic resonance wireless charging technology and smartphone activated functions. The CA-MiEV Concept is also full of dramatic detailing – from the boomerang-sculptured front and rear lights to the ascending side character line enclosing the rear wheel arches to create a strong forward motion effect.
