High-Tech Ceramics General Electrics New Battery Factory

General Electrics opened a new large factory in Schenectady, New York to manufacture high-tech energy storage technology from ceramics. About 60 percent of the factory is dedicated to producing a ceramic electrolyte. The new sodium-nickel batteries could be used to store energy from wind turbines or power remote cell-phones towers.
