How many vehicles would one need to fulfill the functions of an emergency ambulance, personnel automobile and utility transport in the underground mining industry? Most existing mine vehicles appear to be not flexible and quite crude, on the large scale they are not designed for mine environment. Dispatch utility vehicle is specifically designed (Designer: William van Beek) to meet the demand for a practical multipurpose vehicle in the underground mining industry. The mine ATU (ambulance – taxi – utility) design concept is based on modular architecture featured by adjustable interior seating with bi-directional seats and back rests, flexible driver console that can be used for operating the vehicle and integrated overhead utility crane with a full 360° rotational range of motion on-site as well as remotely.
