Comet-Riding Rosetta Spacecraft Set To Wake Up
The European Space Agency (ESA) Rosetta spacecraft is due to wake up on Monday after 2.5 years of hibernation. The craft will begin to steer itself towards comet 67P/Chur-yumov Gerasimenko, which it will begin to orbit in November. The spacecraft will be the first to orbit a comet, and the first to launch a lander onto one — collecting data on the 4.5 billion year old space rock as it nears the sun.
