Main is ready to join to several other states in an effort to generate electricity from waves. Wind energy developers have signed twenty years power purchase agreement with Maine’s Public Utilities Commission. That means, the 150 kW devices are to be placed by ORPC near Seward Neck by late summer. Starting October, the project will generate environmentally safe energy from tidal waves. The company also has expansion plans to include nearby Western Passage and Kendall Head areas to produce up to 4MW of electricity.
