Virgin Atlantic Airways Unveils The Longest Futuristic Bar In The Sky
The international VW + BS studio in collaboration with the Virgin Atlantic team has designed a striking bar and cabin for the airbus. Designers of the project have managed to create an attractive social space for passengers that meets all the technical requirements of a wide bodied plane with all the safety regulations. Starting from spring, passengers of the Virgin Atlantic airways can get a unique on-board experience to sip a cocktail at 30000 feet, perched on a stool at the longest bar in the sky in a futuristic space and let the world fly by beneath. The bar is placed at the entry point to the plane, its jovial space reflects the trends generally taking place on the ground, with pop-up bars and the new speak easy. The design is definitely futuristic and its new angled position re-imagines the interior of the plane, making a number of smaller social spaces to stand, sit and perch around the counter; people can have a quiet drink alone, socialize in twos or threes. The stools made from machined aluminium have a highly polished surface that generates reflection. The wrap around cocoon of the bar provides a seamless skin having all of the pertinents required on a modern aircraft like oxygen kits, wheel chair storage etc., besides it offers things a bar must contain (the glasses, the ice buckets and the bottles of spirits). It is possible to create various moods and scenes due to a changing lighting scheme.
