Toilet Waste = Drinkable Water + Rocket Fuel

dr sarah haigh, future technology, toilet waste
Dr. Sarah Haigh from Manchester University in cooperation with researchers from Imperial College London and Durham University received $100,000 from the Bill Gates foundation to work on the project on turning the toilet waste into some energy source with drinking water on the side. So far, the plan is to use a combination of bacteria and small metal nano-particles to obtain hydrazine (used as rocket fuel) and water safe to drink as a byproduct. If Dr. Sarah Haigh succeeds with some actual results within the next year she is promised to receive the further funding worth one million. Though there do exist ways of turning the sewage waste into water, it’s the first research aiming to make the treatment affordable and produce hydrazine as its outcome. Good luck to this purifying and energizing project!
