Mercedes Benz in collaboration with UK-based boat-building company Silver Arrows Marine has unveiled a 14-meter (46 ft) long motor yacht at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show. Dubbed the “Silver Arrow of the seas” the boat takes its name from the Silver Arrow racing cars that dominated events in the 1930s, the Mercedes-Benz Formula One and sports cars of 1954/55. The luxury yacht combines Mercedes’ luxury car line design and the top technical equipment and construction from Silver Arrow Marine team. Producers claim the motor yacht to be crammed with innovations so far unknown in the boat industry, besides it must be suitable for a wide range of uses and can also provide an overnight accommodation. Though, from the design images the Silver Arrow seems to be mainly a luxury day motor-cruiser, boasting mere abundance of comfort, and built for an exciting swift riding. The “Silver Arrow of the seas” is planned to enter the market in 2013.
