A new concept car, EXTREM, designed by Nissan for the Brazilian market has been unveiled at the São Paulo Motor Show. In order to reflect the country’s spirits and passion Nissan Design America collaborated with Brazilian designers. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s Chief Creative Officer, reports that “EXTREM with a dynamic, high-character design was created to appeal to the country’s growing band of city-based young professionals who are passionate about design and want to make a personal statement”. The EXTREM is a two-door, four-seat hatchback, the car sits higher than the average hatch, adding ground clearance for navigating the “urban jungle”; a rear aluminum skid plate adds further protection. In the meantime, the car concept boasts the sloping roof, wraparound glasshouse, sharp LED headlamps and bulging fenders, which add to its sporty looks. Nissan is not sure, whether the car concept will turn into a production model, nevertheless its styling features might appear in future cars.
