Magnetic Resonance Helmet Assists Doctors

Magnetic Resonance Helmet, Red-Dot design, the future of medical technology, smart technologies
For a long time patients have been subjected to lenghthy scanning time during fMRI procedures; it often resulted in patients’ discomfort because of claustrophobia, high noise levels and the need to keep still during a scan. One of Red-Dot design concept finalists, Magnetic Resonance Helmet, seeks for a solution of this problem. The device features 500 sensors for better spatial resolution. Due to this helmet concept doctors can get detailed information within a short time span: patients are presented with multimedia services during the scan, helping them to relax and feel comfortable. The multimedia services are also available for special neuronal tests, linking the stimulus of visual tract with brain response.
