Floating Wind Farm, alternative energy
Attempting to meet the EU requirement of 10 percent renewable energy by 2020 Malta (the island country near Sicily) is considering to build the floating wind farm. A project by Hexicon (Sweden) includes a platform with 36 turbines anchored by cables to the sea bed. If implemented this 54 megawatts floating farm would become the largest one in the world.
