HAL Robot Suit By Cyberdyne Has Got International Safety Approval
The HAL robotic suit, produced by Cyberdyne, and available for rent in Japan, has finally got an international safety approval. The first nursing-care robot was designed for elderly and disabled people who find it difficult to get around, e.g. you can move your arm slightly and let HAL help you reach the top shelf. Here’s a short description, how it works: put the suit on, move an appendage slightly, and the suit will detect the movement; then it will guide your natural movement with robotic efficiency. The suit is powered by a 22-pound battery attached to the waist, and the leg braces can help the wearer walk, and even climb stairs.
