Up-to-date technologies enable gadgets identify the correct users by means of measuring one’s heartbeats via fingertips. ECG biometrics, developed by Foteini Agrafioti, an engineer at the University of Toronto, for Bionym, identifies people by their cardiac rhythm. The heartbeat ID will be embedded into a phone or tablet, so that unauthorized users will be locked out and theoretically it’s impossible to hack the device to unlock it.
