Cutting Edge Technology In The Cannondale CERV Bike
Priority Designs team has managed to realize Cannondales vision of a concept bike packed full of cutting edge technology that would debut at EUROBIKE (Germany) on 8/29/2012. The task to turn a sexy concept illustration into a working prototype was really challenging, though successful in the end: forkless, chainless, and dynamically adjustable radical concept bike was created. The Cannondale CERV Bike features a dynamically adjustable headset that moves both fore-and-aft and up-and-down, thus putting the rider in an optimal position based on the terrain. The headset translates forward and down for a clean, low-drag position when descending; when climbing, it moves up and back, creating a more upright position for maximum leverage on the crank. Doing all this with a traditional fork in place wasn’t going to cut it, so a single-sided swing arm was proposed. Though you might not see The CERV on the road tomorrow, the bike exemplifies commitment to advanced technology from Cannondale and creative engineering of Priority Designs.
