Contour Crafting: Custom Home Built In 20 Hours

contour crafting
We’ve written about the technology before and we return to it with one more expert opinion. Contour Crafting utilizes a giant 3D printer standing over the area of the future home, building the walls with layers of concrete, adding plumbing and electrical wiring where needed, printing an entire building in time less than a single day. There are ways to robotically paint and tile the floors and walls, leaving pretty much windows and doors to complete the house. Professor Behrokh Khoshnevis from the University of South California sees Contour Crafting the way to eliminate slums, help the areas suffering after natural disasters and even build large buildings and luxurious homes with custom architectural features changed with in several clicks of a mouse.
