Cambridge Consultants have designed the DropTag, a small, low-cost and low-powered sensor that records all of the shakes and drops the package is subjected to during transit. When the package with the DropTag is within 164 feet, you can then use a smartphone app connected via Bluetooth to check its status: in case a package was dropped (accidentally or not), this status will be shown on an app. In April the DropTag will be displayed at the Hannover MESSE 2013 show in Germany.
