Boeing CHAMP – Counter-Electronics High-Powered Advanced Missile Project

A recent weapons flight test in the Utah desert may change future warfare after the missile successfully defeated electronic targets with little to no collateral damage. The Boeing CHAMP (Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project) missile is a non-kinetic alternative to traditional explosive weapons that use the energy of motion to defeat a target. During the fly test the missile directed its microwave beam towards the building as it passed, effectively knocking out all the computers, electronic data and electronic subsystems, and this included the cameras set up to monitor the results. CHAMP allows for selective high-frequency radio wave strikes against numerous targets during a single mission. But this is possible only before a counter armory is invented that might be used to disable CHAMP as it is on its way toward the target.
